Ben came to me with a few pinterest valkyrie designs, and asked for something that would fit in with his trad pin-ups on the other side of the arm. The final piece is pretty close to one of the references, with some new details that shift it a little more realistic. I went with this illustrative black and grey style because it has good contrast and lots of open skin so it doesn’t clash with the trad pieces, and added a thicker silhouette line to match the surrounding tattoos.

I’m happy to work with clients that want a design they’ve seen somewhere else, but I usually like to redraw it with some alterations to suit both my style and any existing work on the client.
