These are some of my ornamental designs, influenced by filigree patterns and wrought ironwork. I love bold blackwork that catches the eye from a distance and hides more detail to appreciate on a closer look.
I like to add a bright gem with rich colours to act as a centerpiece for the design, contrasting and complementing the monochrome blackwork, and reinforcing the idea that the tattoo is a decoration for the body as much as a piece of jewellery is.
The beauty of purely ornamental tattoos is they can be easily be designed to fit any space on the body, accentuating the natural curves and or creating entirely new ones, just like you might use makeup to create contours.
